Andreas Escher

Andreas Escher (born January 23, 1966 in Saarbrücken , Germany ) is a German developer and graphic artist for computer and console games . He was jointly responsible for the C64 version of the R-Type game series as well as for the C64 games Katakis and Turrican II .

Life

Since 1987 Escher has been busy creating graphics on the C64. Manfred Trenz was already employed at Rainbow Arts when Escher joined in 1988. Since both had a penchant for shoot-'em-up games like R-Type , they developed a concept for Katakis .

Between 1992 and 1995, Escher worked for Factor 5, among others . He then worked for various companies, such as Neon, Wings Simulation or Similis. He has worked as a graphic designer in the gaming industry since 2008.
