Andreas Filippi

Andreas Filippi (born October 22, 1963 in Aachen ) is a German - Swiss specialist dentist for oral surgery .

Career

Filippi studied dentistry at the University of Giessen and did his doctorate there . In 1992 he was qualified as a dentist for oral surgery in Germany and in 2001 in Switzerland. In 1998 he moved to the University of Bern , followed by his habilitation and appointment as a private lecturer in 1999 . In 2001 Filippi moved to the University of Basel , where he was appointed professor in 2005. Since 2018 he has been head of the Oral Surgery Clinic at the University Center for Dentistry Basel UZB.

Special areas and treatment focuses

His focus in research, teaching and patient treatment is interdisciplinary dental traumatology, the treatment of bad breath (halitosis), tongue diagnostics , tooth-preserving surgery, tooth transplantation and the entire field of oral surgery . Numerous specialist articles have been published in these and other areas. In 2006 the Dental Accident Center was founded (with Gabriel Krastl). During the European Football Championship in 2008 , Filippi was the Local Dental Officer. In 2016 the Center for Saliva Diagnostics and Dry Mouth was founded (with Tuomas Waltimo).

  • Swiss Society for Oral Surgery and Stomatology SSOS: since 2001 member, 2003–2007 board member, 2007–2013 president, 2013–2014 past president, since 2006 member of the examination board, since 2013 president of the examination board
  • Swiss Dental Association SSO : member since 2000, 2010–2017 member of Commission K, since 2017 President of Commission K, 2017–2019 member of the Office for Dental Training BZW, since 2017 member of the Board of SSO Basel-Stadt
  • Halitosis working group in the DGZMK: Founding member and since 2009 board member
