Andreas Fisahn

Andreas Fisahn (* 1960 in Schwerte ) is a German legal scholar . Since spring 2004 he has been professor for public law , environmental and technical law , and legal theory at Bielefeld University .
After school and community service he studied law, philosophy, history and social sciences in Würzburg , Cologne , Marburg and Göttingen . He passed the first state examination in 1987 and the second state examination in 1992 . In 1992 he received his doctorate with a thesis on state and legal theory by Franz L. Neumann . From 1995 to 2001 he worked at the University of Bremen as a research assistant to Gerd Winter. In 2001 he completed his habilitation thesis Democracy and Public Participation . Since 2004 he has been a professor at Bielefeld University.
Fisahn is a member of Attac Germany's scientific advisory board . and takes a position in daily political media such as the Frankfurter Rundschau , the Junge Welt , the Freitag or the taz .
Fisahn's main areas of work are critical state and legal theory, democratic theory, and European and environmental law. The 2008 book Herrschaft im Wandel. His main scientific work is reflections on a critical theory of the state .
