Andreas Ganske

Andreas Ganske (born July 3, 1964 in Berlin ) is a former German cyclist and world champion in cycling who was active in the GDR .

Athletic career

Ganskes greatest sporting achievements was the beginning of his career, victory in the 1,000-meter time trial at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships of the juniors in 1982 when he won the title well before the Italians Salvini. In 1983 he was appointed to the GDR national railway team. He won the International Mocca Cup in Budapest in the time trial and the Budapest Grand Prix in the sprint . In 1984 and 1986 he won the GDR winter track championship in the time trial. In the national championships he won the silver medal in his specialty discipline in 1984 behind Maic Malchow and in 1985 bronze behind the winner Detlef Uibel and Jens Glücklich . Ganske started for the TSC Berlin club .
