Andreas Hansert (* 1958 in Offenburg ) is a German sociologist, historian, author and exhibition curator.

life and work

Hansert studied sociology at the University of Frankfurt am Main and received his doctorate in 1990 with Ulrich Oevermann on the history of civic patronage from the 18th century to the present day . In 1987 he was awarded the Johann-Philipp-von-Bethmann-Studienpreis of the Frankfurt Historical Commission for this work .

Hansert researches and publishes on questions of current social developments as well as on historical and cultural-historical topics. He puts emphasis on the investigation of civic engagement in the cultural field. He has published numerous papers and articles on his subject areas. He curated exhibitions at the Historisches Museum in Frankfurt am Main, among others .

From 2014 to 2018 he was entrusted with researching the Nazi history of the Offenbach am Main University of Design , which led to a research project on the history of its predecessor institutes during the Nazi era (at that time the Technical University, then the Master School of German Crafts). Hansert works for the Frankfurt Personal Lexicon .
