Andreas Hartmann (born around 1612; died after 1682, possibly in Zeitz ) was a German writer.

Life

Hartmann was in the Matriculation Book of the already 1618 University of Leipzig was added, but put only 1,633 academic oath, was in the same year Bachelor and 1,636 for master's doctorate. At a later date he was the secret chamber secretary of Duke Moritz von Sachsen-Zeitz .

Of his writings, apart from an academic thesis and a few occasional writings, only his student shepherd novel Des Hylas from Latusia Lustiger Schau-Platz From a Pindische Gesellschaft from 1650 has come down to us. Latusia is an anagram of Lusatia , Latin for Lausitz , which is why it has been assumed that it comes from this landscape. Another possible place of origin is Leipzig . The work is dedicated to the Silesian and Saxon students of the University of Leipzig and probably deals with the Leipzig lyric circle in shepherdish disguise, without any specific persons being able to be assigned.
