Andreas Loeffler

Andreas Löffler (born October 5, 1964 in Szeged , Hungary ), actually András Gábor Löffler, is a German professor of banking and finance at the Free University of Berlin .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1983, which Löffler completed in the special classes mathematics / physics at Martin Luther University, he studied mathematics in Leipzig, where he received his doctorate in 1993. rer. nat. In 1995 he received his doctorate in the Department of Economics at the Free University of Berlin Dr. rer. pole. In 1995 he was a visiting scholar at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania . In 1999/2000 he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles . In 2000 he completed his habilitation at the Free University of Berlin. From 2000 to 2006 Löffler was a professor for business administration, especially banking and finance, at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hanover . In 2006 he turned down an offer from the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg . Then he was professor at the chair for banking and finance at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg until 2008 . From 2008 he held the chair for Financing and Investment at the University of Paderborn . In the 2011/2012 winter semester, he accepted an appointment at the Free University of Berlin .

Awards

In the Handelsblatt Top 25 list of German business economists, Löffler took third place in the finance department, and overall he was 15th. In 2007, together with Lutz Kruschwitz, he received the textbook award of the Association of University Lecturers for Business Administration for the work "Discounted Cash Flow".
