Andreas Lösel (born March 29, 1983 in Erlangen ) is a German swimming athlete .

Career

Lösel's special discipline is the 200 m chest . As a youngster, he won several German championship titles in his year over the 100 m and 200 m courses. At the German Championships in 2004 he was fourth over 200 m. Despite the best lead time, however, he missed qualifying for the Olympic Games in Athens that same year in the final .

In the following two years he was able to improve his 200 m placements at the German championships by one place and finished third and second. At the German Championships in 2007 he was finally able to win the championship title and set a new German record with 2: 11.97 minutes , which was over two and a half seconds below the old best time.

Andreas Lösel lives in Baiersdorf and starts for SSG 81 Erlangen . He studied geography, economics and sports at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg . He currently teaches at the Paul-Klee-Gymnasium Gersthofen .
