Andreas Lange (* 1964 in Höxter ) is a German Evangelical- Lutheran theologian . Since 1992 he has been pastor in the parish of St. Nicolai in Lemgo and since 2005 Lutheran superintendent of the Lippe regional church . Lange is Vice-President of the EKD Synod .

Life and career

Andreas Lange comes from Detmold . After graduating from high school in 1984 at the Leopoldinum Gymnasium , he studied theology in Bethel and Münster . From 1990 to 1992 he was vicar in Bad Salzuflen . In 1992 he became pastor in Lemgo an der Ev.-luth. Church of St. Nicolai , 2005 Lutheran Superintendent. In autumn 2013 he ran unsuccessfully for the office of regional bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran regional church in Braunschweig . Lange publishes regularly in specialist journals and is the author of regional publications. In 2017 he received his doctorate in diaconal studies.

Functions

Lange has been a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany since 2009 . At the same time he was elected as one of seven members of the synod's presidium. In 2015 he was re-elected to the Synod Presidium. Since November 11, 2018, he has been Vice President of the EKD Synod.

As Lutheran Superintendent, he represents the Lippe Regional Church in the Lutheran World Federation and in the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Germany .

Lange has been a member of the Synod of the Lippe Regional Church since 2005. As chairman of the concept group “Structures, Conference Houses and Cross-Sectional Tasks”, he developed concepts for management and administrative structures, regional church houses and public relations work, which the Lippe Regional Synod in 2009 made its own. As a result, the Stapelage conference center was closed on June 1, 2010 and the theological library was merged with the Lippe regional library of the Lippe regional association on January 1, 2011 .

Awards

On June 17, 2017, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lithuania awarded him the Silver Cross as thanks for his ecumenical efforts. On October 31, 2017, the old Hanseatic city of Lemgo awarded him the city seal "in recognition of the services to our city", as it says in the accompanying certificate.
