Andreas Maurer (theologian)

Andreas Maurer (* 1952 ) is a Swiss theologian and publicist. His main focus is the dialogue between Christianity and Islam in Switzerland.

After training and working as a mechanical engineer in Switzerland, Maurer attended a Bible College in England from 1981–1984, earned his bachelor's degree there in 1984 and then worked from 1984 to 1998 as a missionary for the Swiss Missionary Community (SMG) in South Africa. During this time he continued his studies at the University of Cambridge (Certificate of Religious Studies, 1989), the University of Stellenbosch (MA, 1996) and at the University of Pretoria , where he completed a thesis on the motives of conversion in 1999 in the subject of theology Christian and Muslim doctorate. Since 1999 he has been with the Arab World Ministries in Switzerland as "Training Coordinator Europe".
