history
The Office Vörden was set up in 1843 as part of the introduction of the rural community order for the province of Westphalia . Initially, the municipality of Hagedorn also belonged to the Vörden district. In 1936 it was reclassified to the Steinheim office .
On the basis of an area change agreement of November 15, 1968 and Section 7 of the “Law for the Reorganization of the District of Höxter” of December 2, 1969, which in Section 8 (7) also confirms the area change agreement with minor restrictions, the municipalities of the office signed up to the 1. January 1970 together to form the new town of Marienmünster . The Vörden office was dissolved. The legal successor is the city of Marienmünster.
