Kollerbeck is a district of the city of Marienmünster in the Höxter district , North Rhine-Westphalia . Kollerbeck has 734 inhabitants and is therefore the third largest district of the city of Marienmünster. The place is located in the valley of the Kollerbach and the Niese -Aue and is surrounded in the north by the Westerberg and in the south by the Hellberg . The peasantry Langenkamp east of Koller Beck with around 30 residents also part of the site. The name is based on the Kollerbach , which flows in the south-east of the village and, as is typical of the region, is often named with the Middle Low German term for Bach as Becke or Low German Bieke . Kollerbeck is also traversed by the still young Niese.

history

Kollerbeck was first mentioned in a document in 1184. Collerbike first became Collerbeck and finally the current name of the place Kollerbeck . The term Kolrebegke or Kolrebeke can also be found in the 14th century . Historically, Kollerbeck is closely connected to the nearby Oldenburg . Kollerbeck is first mentioned in a document in a list of goods that Archbishop Philipp of Cologne acquired for the church in 1184. After the successful war against Duke Heinrich the Lion (1180–81), he became lord of the county of Schwalenberg . In 1184 he acquired the Oesdorf near Pyrmont estate from Wittekind II von Schwalenberg and the feudal property of the Count in Kollerbeck, which apparently already existed as a village at that time. In 1231 Kollerbeck appears in the archdeacon directory of the diocese of Paderborn as a parish. The parish then belonged to the Archdeacon Steinheim . There is a document from 1240 that was signed by Johannes, priest of Kollerbieke as a witness. The parish in Kollerbeck probably existed until the end of the 15th century.

In 1231 the name of the noble lord Friedrich von Kollerbeck appears on a document as Nominus Frethericus of Colribike . Friedrich descended from the Counts of Schwalenberg and his grandfather, Count Widekind I. von Schwalenberg , was the founder of the Marienmünster Abbey . Friedrich had moved his residence to Kollerbeck and then adopted the name of the village. It can no longer be proven whether the former castle was built by Friedrich. The so-called Swiss castle , after which the road to the south of its buried ruins is named, Schweizerburgweg , was a moated castle north of the village and the location of which is still known today. According to a document from 1358, one half of Kollerbeck and the Oldenburg were sold or pledged to the Lords of Lippe and the other half to the diocese of Paderborn. In 1803 the church property was nationalized in the course of secularization . In 1860 the residents of Kollerbeck built a church that was consecrated to John the Baptist , and in 1899 the Catholic Church of Kollerbeck again made it an independent parish.

With the law on the reorganization of the Höxter district of December 2, 1969, on January 1, 1970, Kollerbeck was merged with the other twelve municipalities of the Vörden district to form the town of Marienmünster.
