history
In the late Middle Ages, Eilversen was called Eilvernahm and is mentioned for the first time in the Corvey fief registers of Abbot Erkenbert in connection with some of the courts there. A few years later, Eilversen belonged to the Marienmünster Abbey . In the 14th century the ownership changed again and now the village belonged to Samt Oldenburg, which was shared by the noble lords of Lippe and the bishop of Paderborn . In the 13th century there lived a noble family who took the name of the village. Knight Ludolf von Eilversehen , wife Rixa and son Johannes belonged to the entourage of the Counts of Schwalenberg and the Bishop of Paderborn. Fiefdoms of the Eilverser Mark were the lords of Oeynhausen for a long time until Cord von Haxthausen took over the fiefdom in 1505. The Reformation could not gain a foothold in Eilversen either. From 1589 the place belonged to the parish Altenbergen , which was administered by the Marienmünster monastery. During World War II , Eilversians were also involved as soldiers in the war from which everyone returned. Eilversen is one of the few places in Germany that did not suffer any losses.
With the law on the reorganization of the Höxter district from December 2, 1969 to January 1, 1970, the village was merged with the other twelve municipalities of the Vörden district to form the town of Marienmünster.
