Ernst Friedrich Althans

Ernst Friedrich Althans (born November 22, 1828 in Sayn ; † November 30, 1899 in Berlin ) was a Prussian mountain official.

Life

Ernst Friedrich Althans was born in 1828 as the son of Carl Ludwig Althans , director of the royal Prussian iron and steel works Sayn . He followed his father and, after completing his studies, started working as a mountain assessor at the Oberbergamt Bonn , but in 1861 he switched to the Prussian Ministry for Trade, Industry and Public Works in Berlin. After a year at the Oberbergamt Halle , Althans became a mining district official in Goslar in 1867 . In 1868 he was appointed to the mountain ridge and was transferred as director of the salt works in Schönebeck, as well as being appointed head of the local salt office . In 1872 Althans went to the Oberbergamt Breslau as Oberbergrat and stayed there until his retirement in 1895. In 1882 he was named the Secret Mountain Ridge for his outstanding achievements .
