Andreas Rinke

Andreas Rinke (* 1961 in Mainz ) is a journalist and author .

Life

Andreas Rinke studied history and politics in Hanover, London and Paris. He received his doctorate in history from the University of Hanover . From 1986 to 1999 he worked as a journalist for the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung . In 2000 he moved to the Handelsblatt in Berlin, where he became deputy head of the Berlin office in 2003. He was primarily responsible for the areas of foreign and security policy and the Chancellery. In 2010 he switched to the German service of the international news agency Reuters. Since 2011 he has been working there as chief political correspondent, “Chancellor watcher” and team leader for politics. He is the author of various books and publications in magazines. Rinke wrote together with Christian Schwägerlthe book 11 Impending Wars , published in 2012 and updated in 2015 . It presents conflict scenarios for the 21st century in fields such as space, nutrition, information technology, brain research and demography.

In 2016 he published a book about Chancellor Angela Merkel , the Merkel Lexicon . In it, he describes the Chancellor's thoughts and actions in more than 300 key words, which he has observed since 2005.

Rinke is married and has two children.
