Andreas Schilling

Andreas Schilling (born November 18, 1957 in Cologne ) is a German composer, film composer and double bass player.

Life

Andreas Schilling is the son of Felicitas and Hans Schilling . He studied school music, double bass and art at the Cologne University of Music and at the University of Düsseldorf. He received his first composition and double bass lessons from 1974 to 1975 in Washington, DC

He has been the double bass player, arranger and composer of the Markus Reinhardt Ensemble since 1976 and has established himself as one of the most versatile German bassists through his work on many live and studio projects. Since 1986 he works - u. a. in the meat group - with Dietmar Bonnen . In this context he composed for numerous CD productions, stage music, radio programs and concerts, etc. a. in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

From 1987 to 1999 he worked in school as a music and art teacher. Since 1990 compositions and arrangements for stage productions have been created. a. Hebbel-Theater Berlin (for Robert Wilson), Freiburger Theater , Landestheater Linz and Schauspielhaus Cologne .

Andreas Schilling has written film scores for over 40 films (cinema and television) and theme music (including Schimanski , Die Fussbroichs ). From 1989 to 2008 he managed the nail studio at Gilbachstraße 11, one of the most creative production facilities for new music and film music in the Rhineland.
