Andreas Schlittmeier

Andreas Schlittmeier (born May 28, 1920 in Landshut ; † November 2, 2000 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Schlittmeier attended elementary and vocational school and made an apprenticeship as a locksmith with an assistant examination, so that he worked as a telephone workshop worker. From 1940 to 1945 he was engaged in military service as a pilot and was wounded. In 1945 he became a travel agent, in 1946 an independent businessman. After his business assistant examination and the gifted high school diploma , he studied political science at the University of Munich and became a qualified economist.

In 1946 Schlittmeier became a member of the SPD, where he held various board positions. From 1948 he was a member of the Landshut city ​​council and chairman of the parliamentary group there for 20 years. From 1960 to 1972 he was 2nd mayor. From 1954 to 1970 he was a member and for twelve years chairman of the parliamentary group in the district assembly of Lower Bavaria . From 1966 to 1986 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .
