Andreas Ulvo (born July 22, 1983 in Eidskog ) is a Norwegian jazz pianist , keyboardist and composer .

Andreas Ulvo, who comes from Eidskog in the province of Hedmark , attended the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo. In 2007/08 he was a member of the experimental band Shining , the Eple Trio with Jonas Howden Sjøvaag and Sigurd Hole, with whom he recorded three albums from 2007, and the Karl Seglem Quartet ( Norskjazz.no , 2009). He also worked with Frøy Aagre ( Cycle of Silence ), Solveig Slettahjell , Thom Hell and Mathias Eick , on whose ECM album Skala (2011) he can be heard as well as on I Concentrate On You (2014). Together with percussionist Erland Dahlen, known as a band member of Nils Petter Molvær and Eivind Aarset , Ulvo belongs to the Ellen Andrea Wang Trio, which released its debut album under its own name, Diving , in 2015 .

He worked under his own name with his Ulvo Ensemble (to which Erlend Habbestad and Morten Barrikmo Engebretsen also belong), with whom he recorded The Sound of Rain Needs No Translation (AIM, 2008) and In the Clearing / In the Cavern (NorCD, 2010) . Also in 2010 was Ulvo's solo album Light and Loneliness ; In 2012 he presented the album Softspeaker (Atterklang) with his own compositions with the folk ensemble Slagr .
