Andreas Weiß (* 1596 ; † 1670 ) was a German organ builder .

life and work

Andreas Weiß founded the organ building tradition in Ostheim before the Rhön . In 1619 he built the organ for the recently completed, new Protestant parish church of St. Michael in Ostheim. During this time, the man in his mid-twenties got to know the daughter of the pastor at the time, Katharina Götz, whom he married on May 21, 1625 in Ostheim. He later worked as an organ builder from Meiningen .
