Andreas Wilhelm (sports scientist)

Andreas Wilhelm (* 1957 / 1958 in Flensburg ) is a German sports scientists and university teachers .

Life

Wilhelm studied mathematics and sport as well as pedagogy and logic for teaching. From 1985 he worked as a research assistant at the chair for sport psychology at the Institute for Sport Science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel (CAU). From 1990 he was employed as a teacher for special tasks at the Institute for Sports Science (department of movement theory and didactics of sports games) at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg . In 1993 he completed his doctoral thesis in sport science at the University of Kiel and was then a scientific assistant at the chair for sport psychology at the Institute for Sport and Sport Science at the CAU and, from 1999, scientific advisor. In the same year he presented his habilitation in Kiel, from 2000 he was a teacher for special tasks in Kiel. He later held the substitute chair for psychology and movement science at the Kiel Institute for Sports Science and then also took up a professorship in the field of applied sports science at Christian-Albrechts-Universität.

Wilhelm's main research topics include leadership and coaching, he examines social processes within teams and groups, deals with training stress, strain and adaptation, as well as the topics of self-efficacy and action control.

Sports activities

He played handball at TSV Altenholz and TSB Flensburg , from 1980 he was also a trainer in the youth and women division in Altenholz and between 1993 and 2001 he was a selection trainer at the handball association Schleswig-Holstein . From 2001 he worked in the training and further education of the trainers of the rowing association Schleswig-Holstein and the table tennis association Schleswig-Holstein.
