Andreas Wimmreuter (born October 4, 1963 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and ÖBB employee. From 2012 to 2013 he was a member of the Salzburg state parliament .

He has been mayor of the municipality of Zell am See since 2019 .

Life

Wimmreuter works as a dispatcher for the Austrian Federal Railways and has been a community representative in the city of Zell am See since October 1989 . In 2001 he was elected chairman of the committee for public procurement matters in the social and housing sector and councilor of the city of Zell am See. Since 2009 he has also held the office of Vice Mayor of Zell am See. After Robert Zehentner moved to the Federal Council , Wimmreuter succeeded him on February 12, 2012 as a member of the Salzburg state parliament, where he represented the SPÖ in the committee for spatial planning, environmental protection and transport and as deputy chairman of the petition committee. He was also the area spokesman for regional planning and building law in the SPÖ state parliament club. Wimmreuter cites the improvement of childcare facilities, the creation of affordable and needs-based living space, a “future-oriented and sustainable” transport policy and social policy as his political concerns.

Wimmreuter is married and has two children.
