Andrei Michailow from Belorezk started for the Republic of Bashkortostan and, like Jelena Sharafutdinova, was trained by V. Averyanov. He achieved his greatest international success at the last international championships held in the sport, the 2008 European Archery Championships in Moscow. In the sprint race he won the title ahead of Vladimir Evtjukow and Pawel Borodin , in the pursuit race he had to let Andrei Jewsjukow overtake him, but stayed ahead of Borodin and won silver. Only in the mass start race did Mikhailov fail to win another medal in fourth place by 7.8 seconds behind Kirill Malzew , Pawel Borodin and Vladimir Evtjukov. Together with Andrei Jewsjukow he was the third best archer of the title fights. In 2012 he was still one of the candidates for the Russian national team in archery biathlon, but was no longer considered afterwards.
