Andrei Wadimowitsch Schljapnikow
Andrei Wadimowitsch Schljapnikow ( Russian Андрей Вадимович Шляпников , English transcription Andrey Shlyapnikov; born January 13, 1959 in Kostroma ) is a former Soviet sprinter .
At the Athletics World Cup in Montreal in 1979 , he came with the Soviet team in sixth place in the 4 x 100 meter relay .
In 1980 he was at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Sindelfingen fifth over 60 m and reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games in Moscow over 100 m .
At the European Indoor Championships in Grenoble in 1981 , he won bronze over 50 m . In 1986 he contributed to the victory of the Soviet team in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart .
In 1980 he became Soviet champion over 200 m and Soviet indoor champion over 60 m and 100 m.
