Andrew Rose (economist)

Andrew Kenan Rose is a Canadian - American economist and university lecturer .

Career, research and teaching

Rose studied economics with a minor in philosophy at Trinity College at the University of Toronto from 1977 . After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1981, he moved to Great Britain, where he studied econometrics and international finance at Nuffield College, University of Oxford . In 1983 he graduated with a Master of Philosophy with the title "Intervention on the Canadian Foreign Exchanges". He then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology , where he received his Ph.D. - Graduated from Jerry Hausman , Stanley Fischer , Olivier Blanchard and Danny Quah in Econometrics and Monetary Policy . He then followed a call from the University of California at Berkeley .

Rose's focus is on international trade, international finance and monetary policy. In his published works and lectures, he dealt in particular with free trade and currency communities. He also dealt with the financial market crises in Japan and in emerging countries as well as with the global financial crisis from 2007 .
