Andrew Wilson (politician)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Andrew Wilson (* 1970 in Lanark ) is a Scottish politician and a member of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

In the Scottish parliamentary elections in 1999 Neil stood as a candidate for the SNP for the constituency of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth , but was clearly defeated by Cathie Craigie of the Labor Party . On the basis of the election result, he moved into the newly created Scottish Parliament as an envoy from the electoral region of Central Scotland via the regional list . Between May 1999 and June 2001, Wilson was shadow minister for finance, later for economics and transport. In the following general election in 2003 , Wilson ran again for Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, but received around 500 votes less than Cathie Craigie. Since Wilson was lowered from second to fifth on the regional list in 1999, he missed re-entry into parliament.
