Andrey Valiguras

Andrey Valiguras ( Ukrainian Андрій Валігурас Andrij Walihuras ; * in Nowa Odessa , Ukraine ) is a Lithuanian-Ukrainian opera singer ( bass ).

Life

Andrey Valiguras received his vocal training in Kiev .

From 2001, after completing his studies, he was part of the ensemble of the Odessa State Opera . He came to Germany in 2003 and was a member of the Hagen Theater ensemble from 2003 to 2007 . From 2007 to 2012 he sang at the Oldenburg State Theater . He sings specialist roles as a heavy bass and serious bass, including Mephisto in Mefistofele , Dikoj in Katja Kabanowa , the gold dealer in Cardillac and Ramfis in Aida . In the 2012/13 season he sang Commendatore in Don Giovanni at the Theater Vorpommern . In the summer of 2013 Andrey Valiguras was on tour as Il Ré in Aida in Germany and France . In 2014 and 2015 he sang all Mozart bass parts in the da Ponte cycle at the Hamburg Chamber Opera .

Andrey Valiguras has been a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Vorpommern since the beginning of the 2016/2017 season. Here he sang the roles of Zuniga in Carmen , Tom / Silvano in Ein Maskenball , Mephisto in Faust , Hermann in Tannhäuser and the Singers' War on Wartburg and as Bishop of Basingstoke in Jekyll & Hyde .
