life and work

Andries Danielsz. is a little known painter of powerful floral pieces who was not rediscovered until the 1950s and 1960s. In 1599 he was a student of Pieter Brueghel the Elder. J. in Antwerp , where he may also be involved in the production of works after Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Ä. was involved. In 1602 he became a member of the local Guild of Luke .

Andries Danielsz. Works are reminiscent of pictures by Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder. Ä. whose oeuvre they were previously assigned to many times. The structure, colors and lighting, however, refer to Jan Brueghel the Elder. Ä. who was also famous for his flower still life.

The starting point for compiling your own catalog of works are two “Andries Daniesz. F (ecit) ”signed pictures, one of which, as recently as 1984, was in German private ownership and another, in 1954, on the international art market.
