Bishop Andriy (real name Bohdan Peschko * 27. April 1972 in Lviv , Ukrainian SSR ) is titular bishop of Krateia and since 2008 Bishop of Saskatoon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople Opel below Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Canada (UOCC). It is based in Winnipeg .

Life

Bishop Andrij was born in 1972 under the real name Bohdan Peschko in Lwow (Lviv). In 1989 he began his training as a priest at the seminary in St. Petersburg, which he finished in 1993. From 1994 to 1995 he studied at the Christ the Redeemer Seminary of the Carpatho-Ruthenian Church in Pennsylvania , USA, which is part of the Ecumenical Patriarchate . From 1995 to 1999 he studied at the Kiev Spiritual Academy, from which he graduated with the title of candidate of theology .

On April 8, 2001, Archbishop Vsevolod (Majdansky) ordained him a deacon , and on September 29, 2003 he was made a protodeacon. On September 21, 2005, Protodeacon Bohdan took the monk's vows and was given the name Andrij. On September 25, 2005, Archbishop Vsevolod ordained Archdeacon Andrij as a priest . On October 22, 2005, he was elected Bishop of London and Western Europe by the Sobor of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church in the Diaspora and made an Archimandrite .

Archimandrite Andrij was ordained bishop on December 13, 2005 in St. Volodymyr Cathedral in Chicago. The consecration was carried out by Metropolitan Constantine (Buggan) together with the archbishops Vsevolod (Majdanski) of Scopelos, Antonij (Sharba) and Jurij (Kalistchuk).

His enthronement took place on February 12, 2006 in London, where the official seat of the Bishop of London and Western Europe (Ukrainian Orthodox Eparchy of Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand) is located.

In August 2008 he became Bishop of Sakatoon and Vicar of the Central Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada.
