SV Odin from 1905
The SV Odin from 1905 is a sports club in Hanover , which became famous primarily for its rugby department. The association is named after the main god Odin in Nordic- Germanic mythology . SV Odin was a founding member of the Rugby Bundesliga (1971/72). From 1997 to 2011 the team played in the 2nd Bundesliga North and reached third place in 2006/07. The first men's team has been playing in the Regionalliga Nord since the 2011/12 season.

SV Odin Hannover is also a founding member of the German Pétanque Bundesliga (DPB), founded in 2007 . In the founding year, Odin reached 2nd place. In this competition, the team reached the finals of the last four in 2004.
