Andromeda is a Swedish progressive metal band.

history

The first traces of the band can be traced back to 1999. Back then sent Johan Reinholdz a demo called "Welcome to Forever" on the label War Records. Around this time the rehearsals for the following album "Extension of the Wish" started. At that time Gert Daun played the bass .

In March 2000 a production began under producer Daniel Bergstrand and hired singer Lawrence Mackrory. Later in 2000 the line-up was complete when David joined. After about a month of studio work, the album was ready, but wasn't in stores until the following year. The hard and melodic progressive metal style quickly attracted the attention of listeners and newspapers to the band.

In 2001 the band worked on the follow-up album "II = I", which was completed in August. This album was more complex and more vocal oriented. In 2003, bassist Gert Daun was replaced by Fabian Gustavsson. In the spring of 2004, the recordings for the album “Chimera” began.
