Aneela (born August 8, 1974 in Hillerød , Denmark ; actually Anila Mirza ) is a Danish singer of Pakistani-Indian descent.

Career

Aneela began her musical career as part of the Danish pop band Toy-Box . With the hit Tarzan & Jane the band landed a hit in Germany in February 1999.

Later she could be heard as a background singer on the debut album of the musician Arash . In the summer of 2005, Arash produced her debut single Jaande for Aneela (a cover version of Alabina's Baila Maria ). With the help of the promotion by the German TV broadcaster RTL II , which used the song as a trailer for a series of Bollywood films, Aneela entered the German charts in October 2005 .

She can also be heard with Arash and alongside Rebecca Zadig in the soundtrack to the Swedish film of the same name, Bombay Dreams .

The single Chori Chori (September 2006) is a cover version of the hit Informer by Snow from 1993. Here, too, she sings again with Arash .

Their first album is called Mahi .
