In 2012 El Hijo del Ninja took part in a Mexican reality TV show entitled Mitad y Mitad: Lucha por el Amor, in which he voluntarily unmasked himself in the show's finale.

In 2014, some Mexican wrestling media reported that TNA was interested in signing El Hijo del Ninja, but nothing material came out of the rumors at the time. In 2015, El Hijo del Ninja and his cousin Último Ninja won the LyC Tag Team Championship as part of an ongoing feud between the Garza family and the team of Lucha Libre legends Dr. Losing Wagner Jr. and Silver King.

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (2015-2017)

Garza joined Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) in 2015. His first AAA match took place on October 4th, 2015 at Héroes Inmortales IX. He was known as "Garza Jr." presented. After several midcard fights, Garza Jr. took part in the main Héroes Inmortales X fight a little over a year after his AAA debut. Garza Jr. unsuccessfully challenged Johnny Mundo for the AAA Latin American Championship. Three months later, Garza Jr. challenged El Hijo del Fantasma to the AAA Cruiserweight Championship, but again he was unsuccessful.
