Sántos Escobár (born April 30, 1984 in Acapulco , Mexico ) is a Mexican luchador or wrestler . Following the traditions of the Lucha Libre , its real name is kept secret until it is unmasked. His former ring name refers to his father, the Luchador El Fantasma ("The Spirit"): "El Hijo del Fantasma" is Spanish for "Son of the Spirit". He mainly competes as “rudo” ( heel ) in the Mexican doctorate Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA). As King Cuerno , he is also active in the television program Lucha Underground on the US television station El Rey Network .

Life

Little is known about his personal life. As the son of a wrestler, he got to know the wrestling business from childhood. He also studied international relations at the Universidad Anáhuac . He was trained by his father, El Hijo del Gladiador and Franco Colombo. In addition to his father, his cousin Fantasma Jr. and his uncle Angel de la Muerte are also active in wrestling. He has been in the ring since he was 13 and made his debut as a professional wrestler on July 4, 2000. His career began with the International Wrestling Revolution Group , which he left in 2004 in favor of Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). During his time at CMLL he won the CMLL World Trios Championship twice together with Héctor Garza and La Máscara and once the CMLL World Middleweight Championship.

In 2013 he moved to Asistencia Asesoría y Administración, one of the two largest leagues in Mexico. There he made a name for himself as a highflyer and won the AAA Fusión Championship. At the major event Triplemanía XXII, the title was merged with the AAA Cruiserweight Championship to form the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship and El Hijo del Fantasma became the first holder of the Gütel, which he has been allowed to hold since then.

When the television show Lucha Underground signed a contract with the AAA and some wrestlers were used there, El Hijo del Fantasma was among them. There he plays King Cuerno, a masked hunter. He had his first feud there with Drago , then with Johnny Mundo . On November 14, 2015, he was allowed to defeat Fénix and thus became the second holder of the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship , but lost the title again a week later.

On August 14, 2019, he signed a contract with WWE . He made his in-ring debut on February 15, 2020 and won against Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker together with Raul Mendoza. On April 12, 2020, he entered a tournament to determine an interim NXT Cruiserweight Champion. He finally won this tournament on June 3, 2020, defeating Drake Maverick.
