Angela Hopf

Angela Hopf , (completely Margrit-Angela Hopf-von Denffer ; born October 5, 1941 in Göttingen ), is a German painter , author and editor .

life and work

After attending school in Göttingen and Gießen, the daughter of Dietrich and Brunhilde von Denffer studied art and art education at the Berlin University of Fine Arts and at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts . She was a master student of the surrealist Mac Zimmermann , but her completely independent work is not part of surrealism. The artist, who has lived in Hamburg since 1968 and in Munich since 1973 , has created several successful picture and children's books in addition to her numerous, often large-format pictures - including “The Great Elephant Olympics”, “Minimax and his friends”, “Fabeljan”, “Pling Plang Plung die Raindrops ”-, as well as several volumes on art and cultural-historical topics - including“ Old Ex-libris ”,“ The Art of Ex-libris ”,“ Nude Ex-libris ”- and the anthologies of letters“ Beloved Child! family

Angela Hopf comes from the originally German-Baltic noble family Denffer . In 1965 she married the publisher and writer Andreas Hopf, who died in 2000 . The marriage resulted in two sons, Daniel (* 1965) and Benjamin (* 1971).
