Angelika Brandt (athlete)
Angelika Brandt (born August 15, 1951 ) is a former German marathon runner .
She did not start athletics until she was 23 . She ran her first marathon on the basis of a bet. In 1977 she won the Berlin Marathon , but benefited from the fact that the strongest German runners started in the German Marathon Championship , which was held at the same time . In 1979 she was fourth in the German championship, in 1980 seventh. As second in the Berlin Marathon in 1980, she set her personal best with 2:49:53 h. In 1984 she won the premiere of the Berlin Half Marathon with her personal best of 1:22:45 h.
Angelika Brandt started for the OSC Berlin .
