Positions and controversies

100 days after Angelika Glöckner began her Bundestag mandate, she told the Pirmasenser Zeitung in March 2015 that, in view of the great need, EU reception camps for refugees in North Africa were necessary so that the gangs of smugglers could stop their trade. In addition, the federal government is of course obliged to support the municipalities in accommodating refugees.

Although she voted for the second aid package for Greece, she expects the new Greek government to act instead of words when implementing the austerity measures. "Only as long as the country fulfills its obligations, it can expect an accommodation," Glöckner told the newspaper.

In the federal election campaign in 2013 she was criticized by the chairman of the party Die Linke Pirmasens , Frank Eschrich, for inviting her to an election event with “free entry and free ice skate rental for her guests”.
