Angelo Motta
Angelo Motta (born September 8, 1890 in Gessate , † December 26, 1957 in Milan ) was an Italian entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Italian food company Motta , which Nestlé bought in 1993 .
Life
He started working in a bakery as a teenager. At the beginning of the 20th century Motta moved to Milan, where he ran his first bakery in 1919. Motta was one of the first industrial manufacturers of the Panettone Christmas biscuit . In 1948 he started producing ice cream with his company. The listed Gran Café in Zurich was redesigned based on the model of the first Motta Caffè Bar Milano from 1928 and reopened under the name Gran Café Motta in May 2010.
