Angelo Rossitto (born February 18, 1908 in Omaha , Nebraska, † September 21, 1991 in Los Angeles , California) was a short American actor . He was only three inches tall.

Life

Rossitto was discovered by John Barrymore and made his screen debut with Barrymore in the late silent film The Beggar Poet (1927). He also starred in the controversial film Freaks by Tod Browning in 1932 and in Child Bride by Harry Revier in 1938 . In the 1940s he played alongside Bela Lugosi . For decades Rossito was one of the busiest short actors in Hollywood, and from the 1950s onwards he made numerous television appearances in addition to films. In the 1970s crime series Baretta he played a recurring role as a shoe shine and police informant “Little Moe”. His last major role was alongside Mel Gibson in the 1985 film Mad Max .
