Anja Kempe (artist)

Anja Kempe (* 1973 in Bad Urach ) is a German photographer and artist .

Life

Kempe studied political science, empirical cultural studies and French from 1994 to 1997 at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen . This was followed by studying media art at the University of Design at the Center for Art and Media (ZKM), Karlsruhe (1997–2000) and the Art Academy for Media, Cologne (2000–2003). In the following years she received several grants and sponsorship awards and worked as a freelance artist. From 2007 to 2013 she worked as an artistic assistant in the media art course at the University of Graphic Art and Book Art in Leipzig . In 2014 Kempe was given a teaching position in the media art course at the University of Graphic and Book Art in Leipzig. Since 2017 she has been Professor of Photography / Media at the University of Fine Arts in Essen .
