Anja Mäderer

Anja Mäderer (born April 7, 1991 in Gunzenhausen ) is a German author .

Mäderer grew up in Unterwurmbach , a district of Gunzenhausen in Middle Franconia , and began writing short stories at the age of 15. Three of these short stories appeared in 2009 in the anthology Nachtgespinst , edited by Jean CM Kristensen and Melissa C. Feurer . In 2015 she published the first part of her crime series about Commissioner Nadja Gontscharowa, which was set in Würzburg , where she lived at the time , and was continued in 2016 with the second part called Mainschatten . With her short stories, Mäderer won the Holzhäuser Heckethaler literature prize in 2012 and the short story competition organized by the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt as part of the LiteraPur Festival in 2015 .

Mäderer completed a teaching degree at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and after graduation worked at a school for unaccompanied minor refugees .
