Anja Schillhaneck (born August 12, 1973 in West Berlin ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). She was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 2006 to 2019 .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1992, Schillhaneck studied at the Technical University , the Humboldt University and the Free University of Berlin. In 2003 she completed her studies as a qualified pedagogue . From 2004 to 2006 she was a specialist assistant for science and European affairs for the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives. Until August 2008 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Sociology at the TU Berlin in the project “Networks for Female Founders”.

Schillhaneck is a member of the GEW , the Bildungswerk Alternative Kommunalpolitik eV and the Digitalcourage .

She is married and has a daughter and a son.

politics

Schillhaneck has been a member of the Greens since 1995 and was spokeswoman for the Federal Working Group on Science, University and Technology from 2007 to 2016.

In 2006, Schillhaneck moved into the Berlin House of Representatives in 9th place on the state list of the Greens and was deputy parliamentary group leader and spokeswoman for the group for science and research, and from October 2008 spokeswoman for European affairs there for the entire 16th electoral term. She sat in the Committee for Science and Research and in the Committee for European and Federal Affairs, Media, Berlin-Brandenburg and is a member of the (dormant) boards of trustees of several universities in Berlin as well as a member of the board of trustees of the Catholic University of Social Sciences Berlin.

For the 17th legislative period , it moved back into parliament at number 5 on the state list. She was elected by her parliamentary group as spokeswoman for science, research and technology and as spokeswoman for European and federal affairs. Since September 2014 she has also been the spokesperson for sports policy.

In the constituent session of the House of Representatives on October 27, 2011, she was elected Vice-President of the House of Representatives on the proposal of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen parliamentary group.

For the election to the House of Representatives on September 18, 2016 , she took up position 5 on her party's state list and as a direct candidate in constituency 6 of Tempelhof-Schöneberg. Their choice was made via the state list. During the legislative period, she took on the role of spokesperson for finance and science.

In May 2019, Schillhaneck announced that after a good 13 years she would resign from the House of Representatives on July 31, 2019 for personal reasons. Petra Vandrey , previous leader of the Greens in the District Assembly of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, took over for Schillhaneck .
