Anke Reiffenstuel

Anke Reiffenstuel (born Anke Oettler in Halle on October 7, 1968 ) is a German diplomat . She has been Ambassador to the Philippines since August 2019 . Before that, she was head of the Humanitarian Aid and Humanitarian Mine Clearance Department at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

Life

After graduating from high school, Anke Reiffenstuel studied German and English at the Martin Luther University in Halle from 1987 to 1992 and graduated with an MA in German and literature.

Reiffenstuel is married and has 3 children.

career

Anke Reiffenstuel began the preparatory service for the higher foreign service in 1993 , which she completed in 1995. Between several assignments at the Foreign Office in Berlin, she served at the embassies in London (1997–1999), New Delhi (2002–2005) and Cairo (2009–2012). From 2012 she was initially Deputy Head of Unit and from 2016 Head of the Unit for Humanitarian Aid and Humanitarian Mine Clearance at the Federal Foreign Office. In this role she was also a member of the Foundation Advisory Board of the German Central Institute for Social Issues .

Anke Reiffenstuel has been the successor of Gordon Kricke , Ambassador in Manila ( Philippines ) since August 2019 . In addition to the Philippines, the Marshall Islands , the Federated States of Micronesia and Palau are part of its administrative district.
