Ann-Charlott Settgast (born September 25, 1921 in Neustrelitz , † September 5, 1988 in Schwerin ) was a German writer .

life and work

The daughter of a teacher and an insurance officer had lived in Schwerin since 1942 .

Settgast wrote mostly youth books and historical novels , but also Low German texts (especially for the Norddeutsche Zeitung ) and radio plays for the GDR radio . Her historical novels deal, for example, with Johann Gutenberg , Hans Sachs , Johannes Kepler , Ida and Ferdinand Freiligrath or Bertha von Suttner . She processed the memories of her husband, the sailing ship captain Werner Brockmueller, into collections of stories under the title Ut de Seekist .

A street was named after her in Schwerin.
