Anna Świderkówna
Anna Świderkówna , née Anna Świderek , (born December 5, 1925 in Warsaw ; † August 16, 2008 ibid) was a Polish writer , non-fiction author , historian , philologist and professor at the University of Warsaw .
Life
She studied Classical Philology at the University of Warsaw, which she successfully completed in 1949.
In 1957 she received a grant from the French government at the Sorbonne Institute for Paris Papyrology . In 1962 she became head of the papyrology department at Warsaw University, which she held until 1991. In 1968 she was appointed associate professor for the humanities department and in 1986 full professor. In 1997 she retired.
She has represented Poland many times at international conferences and symposia dealing with the history of ancient literature and culture.
