Anna Czerwińska (born July 10, 1949 in Warsaw ) is a Polish alpinist .

Life

In 1975 Anna Czerwińska took part in an expedition to Gasherbrum II and III in the Karakoram . She attracted attention in the summer of 1977 when she and other female mountaineers climbed the north face of the Matterhorn . In 1979 she climbed the Rakaposhi together with Krystyna Palmowska and chose a new route. In 1983 she again climbed Broad Peak with Palmowska and then in 1985 Nanga Parbat . Wanda Rutkiewicz also took part in this excursion . It was the first time that the Parbat was conquered by women. Mount Everest followed in May 2000 and Lhotse and Cho Oyu in 2001 .

Anna Czerwińska is also the first Polish woman to climb the highest mountains on all continents, the Seven Summits .
