Anna Elisabeth Luise von Brandenburg-Schwedt (born April 22, 1738 in Schwedt , † February 10, 1820 in Berlin ) was a princess of Brandenburg-Schwedt and by marriage Princess of Prussia .

Life

Luise was a daughter of Margrave Friedrich Wilhelm von Brandenburg-Schwedt (1700–1771) from his marriage to Sophie Dorothea Marie of Prussia (1719–1765), a sister of Frederick the Great .

She married her uncle Prince Ferdinand of Prussia (1730-1813) on September 27, 1755 in Charlottenburg Palace . Luise was described as beautiful, witty and amiable. One of her ladies-in-waiting, Amalie von Gallitzin , became famous. Ferdinand had a dairy farm built for his wife in his Bellevue Palace in 1801 .

Luise died in old age and was considered a relic from the Frederician times in Berlin as an original. The appointment of Ernst Ludwig Heim to her personal physician became an anecdote . Luise is buried in the Berlin Cathedral . She had survived five of her children by the time she died.
