Anna Manzer (* 16th April 1930 ; † 10. November 2009 ) in Vienna , Austria , was from 1984 the honorary title of Righteous Among the Nations .

Manzer was honored together with her parents, Ludwig and Anna Friessnegg , as well as her brother Edi Stecher , because together they saved the life of the Jewish woman Melvine Deutsch. This was previously in a forced labor camp of the company Siemens in Vienna-Floridsdorf . When she was deported from the camp in a transport to the Mauthausen concentration camp , she fled the train en route and came to Vienna. There she turned to Manzer, who had been unknown to her, and asked for help.

The Gestapo did not give up the search for Melvine Deutsch who had fled from the transport to Mauthausen. When danger threatened her in Manzer's apartment, she turned to her brother Edi Stecher. Deutsch stayed with Stecher for a few months without being discovered by the Gestapo.

During the resulting shortage of rationed food , parents Ludwig and Anna Friessnegg stepped in. Melvine Deutsch often had to be taken to the Friessnegg's apartment when the Gestapo were looking for Jews in the area. After the liberation, Deutsch was able to leave her apartment safely.
