Anna Moncrieff

Anna Moncrieff (married. Hovey ; born August 11, 1902 in Winnipeg , † January 27, 1995 ) was a Canadian pianist and music teacher .

The daughter of journalist and conductor John J. Moncrieff was a student of Mary L. Robertson , JW Matthews and Eva Clare . She performed on the radio and took part in the opening concert of the Winnipeg Auditorium in 1932. As a member of the Manitoba Registered Music Teachers' Association , she gave private piano lessons for many years. As a piano accompanist, she performed with musicians such as Betty-Jean Hagen , Bronisław Huberman , Zara Nelsova and Kathleen Parlow at their concerts in Winnipeg. Her brother John Moncrieff became known as an opera singer.
