Anna Senior (* 1941 in Canberra , Australia ) is an Australian costume designer . She became known in the 1970s and 1980s for her work for films such as My Brilliant Career , The Fall of Lieutnant Morant , Phar Lap - Legend of a Nation , Bandit from a Good House or Les Patterson Saves the World .

life and work

Anna Senior began her career as a costume designer in the late 1970s with films such as Tom Jeffrey's Weekend of Shadows and The Night, the Prowler by director Jim Sharman . In 1979 she was in charge of director Gillian Armstrong's romantic drama My Brilliant Career with Judy Davis , Sam Neill and Wendy Hughes in the lead roles, for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Costume Design at the 1981 awards ceremony . In the 1980s, further work for directors such as Bruce Beresford , Simon Wincer , Donald Crombie and George Miller followed .

She has been nominated for the Australian AACTA Award several times for her work . In 1979 and 1980 she was able to win the trophy in the category Best Achievement in Costume Design . In 1998 she created her last costume designs for a movie for the drama of Frank Shields.

Anna Senior lives and works as a freelance costume designer in New South Wales , Australia.
