Wendy Hughes
Wendy Hughes (born July 29, 1952 in Melbourne , † March 8, 2014 in Sydney ) was an Australian actress .
Life
She began her acting career in 1968 with appearances in various television series. She made her screen debut in 1974. This was followed by roles in numerous other cinema and television films.
From 1985 to 1993, she also appeared in several US productions, including the America miniseries , a recurring role in Homicide, and an appearance on Starship Enterprise: The Next Century .
Back in Australia, Wendy Hughes played a leading role in the television series Snowy River from 1993 to 1996 and from 1997 to 1998 the lead role of coroner Kate Ferrari in the series Coroner . Her films during this time were Princess Caraboo (1994) and Paradise Road (1997).
Wendy Hughes was nominated seven times for the Australian Film Institute's AFI Award, which she won in 1983 for Best Actress for her role in Careful, He Might Hear You .
Hughes had a son with Australian chef Patric Juillet and a daughter with actor Chris Haywood . From 1971 to 1973 she was also married to actor Sean Scully . She died on March 8, 2014 at the age of 61 from complications from cancer.
